How my journey began

I am a fitness professional with almost 10 years of experience coaching athletes. Most days you can find me coaching at my local CrossFit Affiliate and I love what I do. I specialize in training pregnant and postpartum athletes through those phases of life and beyond.

I started coaching in the pregnancy and postpartum/female athlete space in 2019 after my own struggles throughout my pregnancies.  I have two beautiful children with my husband, Jason.  I have been an athlete my whole life. I earned my undergrad degree in Exercise Physiology in 2009 and discovered CrossFit, my sport of choice, in 2012. I was able to stay active throughout both my pregnancies in 2016 and 2018, but it was not always easy.  There was a lot of conflicting guidance on how to safely workout while pregnant and even more postpartum.  Even through all my formal and informal training, there was little to no education on the female body, particularly during these phases of life. 

After my second child was born, I was diagnosed with a pelvic floor injury, and it changed everything.  I was struggling to even lift my children, let alone live an active life again.  Another unique factor to my story is that I am in the Air Force, which carries a “fit to fight” requirement and adds a lot of pressure to postpartum recovery.

I decided to take matters into my own hands, dug into the research and discovered fantastic resources, one of which was the Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach’s Certification.  I had to coach myself through the postpartum recovery, rebuilding, and strengthening process. There was so much I discovered during that time period, including SO much more about the female body. It sparked a passion for helping this population of women that I didn’t even know I had.

My goal is to be the coach I wish I had during those chapters in my life so no other woman has to say “I wish I would have known”!
